Four Online MLM Myths – Myth #2

‘I hit the motherload,’ or so I thought…

As I mentioned in Myth #1, I was introduced to an Internet Marketing system filled with success stories, like, ‘I hit my first 5 figure month in only 3 months,’ ‘I sponsored 123 people in only three months,’ etc. I remember thinking, ‘I hit the motherload!’ You mean, all I have to do is set up this funnel, (did I mention that I didn’t even know what a funnel was?), and I will start generating 20 leads a day?

Quite the opposite. You see, these success stories are very intriguing, however, they aren’t very realistic to most. The second Myth to Internet Marketing is that there are no skills to develop. You throw up a funnel and people are ‘attracted to you,’ hence the name Mike Dillard so eloquently termed, ‘Magnetic Sponsoring.’

It’s actually ‘…a load of crap!’

Load…of….crap. Not so. There are as any casualties of Internet Marketing as there are to Network Marketing. You see, in building a network marketing business traditionally, offline, there are skills that need to be honed…i.e. communication, listening, how & when to present your opportunity, etc. Most newbies think it’s a matter of going door-to-door hanging crap on people’s doors, asking everyone that breathes if they want to earn more money, hosting hotel meetings, etc. Not so. There is a skillset needed, and most newbies (97% to be exact) try the above, fail miserably and quit, telling everyone their company was a scam. A select few (3%) will learn the skills, practice the skills and find success with the skills!

‘…they think they are an internet marketer because…’

Internet marketing holds the same statistics. Most newbies will throw up a sales funnel, go to Facebook and Twitter and tell everyone to ‘check out their link.’ Now, they think they are an internet marketer because that link isn’t their primary business overview. They don’t get leads, they don’t sponsor anyone into their primary and they quit saying the online marketing system they became part of was a ’sham and doesn’t work.’

Quite frankly, that kind of attitude comes from those who don’t want it badly enough. Simple. Those who DO want it, realize that a new skill set is needed and are willing to put in the time & money in to learn and practice those skills

As with offline marketing of a network marketing business, we have to know how to ‘talk to, appeal to, attract people’ to WANT to work with us. We have to learn who we want on our team, so we know who we want to ’speak to’ online and build a rapport with. From there, we must know how to funnel them properly to our sales funnel and ‘attract’ them to us. Then our offline skills come into play. We connect over the phone, we continue to build rapport and we ‘close’ these people into our primary business.

No doubt,’ ‘there is a skill set….’

There’s always a strategy in article marketing, PPC, video marketing, etc. There is a skill set we need to practice in order to drive people to us. We can’t just put an ad on Google and wait for people to flock to our website. There is a skillset underneath that…i.e. copywriting, having an enticing offer, having something of VALUE for that prospect. There is a skill set to follow up, present and to build trust. ‘a select few will realize the golden nugget….

Why this Is Always The Case… I revealed this the other day to some open minded people and they wondered to themselves why is this so most of the time. Why is there a never ending struggle between marketers and the companies that they are trying to promote. It really doesn’t look like much of a fight from where I am standing.

The general perception of the whole situation is the the MLM company is going to win anyway. I will take the liberty to personally say that there would be no point to this article if that was and is always the case. I am about to reveal to you my friend how you can win this battle over and over again. Soon enough you’ll be making so much money off the same MLM company you despised. You’ll practically be laughing in their face.

The Missing Formula From The Equation…. Honestly it is all really that simple guys. The missing answer to this so called puzzling equation is yourself. It always has been and always will be. MLM companies can make some awesome changes to your life if you understand how to market them correctly. This is where you come in my friend. It is all about you and the value you that you posses to get people into your primary business opportunity.

Your value to people who are in desperate need of setting up a successful online business is what will determine your success with any company and opportunity my friend. Your business has two sides to it. You have the main stage which everyone is viewing and then you have behind the scenes. Well the main stage is where you will present the most value.

Behind the scenes is where your main business or company that you want to monetize lies. This is where you will generate leads to and bring in prospects once you have presented value on the front end. The key is providing valuable information on how to succeed online which is what will make all the difference on the main stage that everyone can see.

Now you won’t catch most people displaying how much they are failing in their online business. That is for sure but the truth is they are just hungry to access the right recourses at the right time which will help them to gain massive success with their MLM company. They’re not just looking for another MLM company that doesn’t do anything to help them as far as learning how to market is concerned. They are tired of that. This sad situation that most internet marketers find themselves in can turn out to be something good for you because you can place yourself in position to provide that knowledge to them.

Giving Value?…. This should have been first on my to do list to go over. I want to also let you know that the battle between you and your MLM company exist only if you want it too. It doesn’t have to be that way at all. It isn’t even really a battle. It is the lack of understanding the correct way to have success with these companies there for it feels like a battle. Your network marketing company can become your slave if you let it.

To look at your business from that perspective is a great gift and can be used to your advantage. This concept can contribute to a lot of your success within this industry. Your MLM company should be their to be your cash cow or your golden goose. Not the other way around. One thing you also have to grasp the understanding of is that most MLM marketers are looking for great companies to get into themselves to monetize. You can make their lives easier by providing them with information on companies that will be best for them to join.

Attraction Marketing is Not a new concept. It has been around Forever. It is simply this…Build a relationship with your leads or prospects first, build trust and then they will buy from you.

It should be so valuable that when you show them the price, they just have to buy it. You must know and understand your niche market in order for your funded proposal to work properly.

*Effectively use lead capture pages, auto responders and sales pages properly.

Use email newsletters to follow up with your auto responder system.

You may loose credibility, fail miserably and may loose a lot of money if you do not use these principals correctly. Using all of these elements correctly is the key to having huge success in the network marketing and mlm industry.
